THE PRACTICE
HATHA YOGA |
The practice of Hatha Yoga is a personal journey through direct experience of the physical, energetic, mental and causal (soul) layers that make up the human form. Hatha Yoga Desha is dedicated to teaching Shadow Yoga; a system of Hatha Yoga developed by Kanpatha yogin Sundernath (Shandor Remete). |
OUR TEACHING APPROACH |
We use a course format to build a solid practice. It is guided externally by a teacher and internally by one's intuition. This progressive and sequential approach requires patience and persistence from the student, in order to return the body and mind to a state of balance and health. Simple repetitive movements are first learnt to prepare the body and mind to enter dynamic sequences of standing postures (stances) and seats (asana). These sequences (called preludes), precede the cultivation of mudra, mantra, pranayama and meditation. The focus is to move the body naturally with the breath, and without force. Those new to yoga, or from other yoga lineages, should begin their journey in Shadow Yoga with the Foundation Practice. |
